Unwanted blank pages printing to a Canon...due to parallel cable too long.

Cause:

This problem can occur if the Canon LBP-8IV printer is attached to the computer with a parallel cable over 4 feet in length. The blank pages occur because the Canon LBP-8IV printer defaults to a 30-second timeout. This setting cannot be changed.

Solution:

Connect the printer to the computer with a parallel cable shorter than 4 feet. This is the recommended length specified in the Canon LBP-8IV printer documentation.
